-September-This is the first real piece that I did this year. We had to incorperate an object we'd been drawing over the summer into a black and white still life. I did this in charcoal to have lots of value nad contrast, and I decided to make it my own interpretation of the story of Pandora's Box. In this case, I had the teapot representing the box and the marbles and fabric spilling out of it representing the ills that the box released on the world. In the end, I decided that this would just be a media experiment, and that although charcoal is fast and easy to blend, I didn't want to use it again because it gets strange textures and smudges easily.
